Don your scarves, photographers, and get sweet revenge.

Last week I wrote “An Open Letter to All Concert Photographers,” essentially decrying your profession/hobby/”IS-THERE-A-DIFFERENCE-IN-2010” as obnoxious and ultimately futile. I was…maybe a little harsh. You got all pissed and blew up Twitter and our comments section for a few hours, presumably leaving hundreds of pictures of kittens wearing hats untaken. I detected a lot of passion in the responses, but still felt like I owed you guys a sincere apology.

If you’re new to CMG, or just regrettably unaware of our Fantasy Podcasts, here’s the quick run-down before we get to this contest: once a year since 2006 we’ve asked some of our favourite artists to record covers for us, which we then compile into a free mix exclusive to this site. Three times over it has been a giddy success, spawning a hit in Japan, Youtube videos, impromptu sing-alongs with Mexican wrestlers, a Deer Tick live staple, more Youtube videos except without video, and so much more. They’re seriously worth checking out, I guess is what I’m saying.
