Ricardo Villalobos :: "Fizheuer Zieheuer"
Fizheuer Zieheuer (2006)
Fizheuer Zieheuer (2006)
Autosomal interactions, off and on beats collapsing against one another (as bodies do), but beyond splicing excerpts of the Chilean national anthem on top of the entire history of horn-march strumpeting the real genius is the way those long stuttering snare factures are just enough behind the actual beats that your body physically wants to correct for them and so you’re forced into dancing, just like Roman Centurions were forced to march to this kind of glacial, Wolffian thump pattern, and really it’s all I can do to gush out one sentence before the subtle but seismic shifts of the other 30+ minutes overwhelm me. Okay, two sentences, because: sweet.
